Run. Yes it is a low priced buffet so do not expect much more then deep fried junk. Place is filthy, staff is poor, and food is disgusting. Do not go, you are warned.

Everyone says this place sucks but then again it's a buffet, don't expect 5 star food. Don't say the staff is hard to understand cuz then so are half the other people in ocean city. They're nice people, a very unique atmosphere, and food that's not bad. I like it mostly for the atmosphere but then again I have a psycho colonial obsession. If you're not a prude then I reccomend going. 13 bucks for all you can eat dessert and everything is good to me!

I'm contemplating on giving this place 3 or 4 stars.. For the most part, I liked it and will probably return. I live in Southern Maryland which is about 3 hours from Ocean City. Despite the 3 hour drive, I go to OC quite often just for the day. Meaning we wake up early, drive the 3 hours, enjoy the beach, shop, eat somewhere, and then drive 3 hours home. As much as I would love to, OC is not the place for me to spend lots of money on food being that I go there just for one day. So I went to OC yesterday with my fiance, and he's very hard to please when it comes to eating out. I mentioned this place to him, which was $13.99, a pretty good price for a buffet. Walking in, we were greeted and helped to our table. All the food looked good and fresh, it looked clean. We went to the bathroom, which had a strong sewer smell. Luckily, we were seated far from the bathroom. The food was really good. I enjoyed the turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing especially. My favorite however, were the steamed mussels. My fiance and I both had about 4 plates each full of just mussels. They tasted amazing! I tried the pizza, pasta, and some other items which weren't so great, but I was full and felt satisfied from the other food. I think I got my money's worth. For dessert, I had the apple pie or whatever it was, and it was also delicious! Now, the annoying part is they already take a tip out of your check. Our server was not very good at keeping the table clear and refilling our drinks, so that kind of sucks. However, the list of 1 star reviews this place has surprises me, and like I said my fiance (and myself, in a way) are hard to please when it comes to restaurants, especially buffets. We will probably return the next time we're in OC, I'm already craving the mussels.

Absolute garbage! Everything in bland! Walking down the isle looking for something to eat and I lost my appetite! Everything looks as if it was just heated up and thrown out there! The mashed potatoes looked dried out, the pizza was burnt and dry, the brownie is a clump of undercooked dough! I don't recommend this place to anyone! $13.99 for all you can eat with 15% tip automatically added to the bill. This is the biggest ripoff in OCMD!!!!!!

Pack the Pepto if you are going to this gastronightmare. I now hate Paul Revere. If you eat here, you will be yelling, "The diarrhea is coming. The diarrhea is coming." Absolutely foul! First, it smelled like urine. Hey, management, don't use ammonia-based cleaners and your place won't smell like pee pee. Second, if you have to study a meatball to discern its origin, it ain't a meatball. The mashed potatoes and onion rings were literally the only good things there. The ribs were unidentifiable. How can something be so sopping wet and still be the driest thing you have ever tried to chew? The hostess was a B. The waiter was nice but looked like he felt sorry for us. The salad bar is okay up until the suger-laden deli salads and sugar-laden dressings. All I wanted was a little low carb dinner to make up from the delights of the Boardwalk, but I don't want a carrot so dried up that it is no longer orange. The lettuce needs to not be brown or old. The décor was actually kind of interesting to me. My husband hated it. We went to CVS, got Pepto, and went back to our room and did shots. We were planning on doing some shots and having some fun, but this was not really what we had in mind. Close up this monstrosity and allow a healthy, fun, interesting buffet to replace. G-R-O-S-S!!!!

We decided to give this a shot, we were looking for a quick dinner with our 2 young children (2 and 3) and they were free.. It was 13.99 a person so I wasn't expecting anything spectacular.. It wasn't the worst food I've ever had but was far far far from the best.. A decent selection, plenty for the kids as well.. Once we had drinks ( a milk, soda, apple juice and 2 beers) the bill came to $54... I can't complain too much about a $54 dollar dinner for 4

Can't imagine how this place has managed to stay in business for so long. Yes, it's buffet, yes, I realize you're not going to get a 5 star meal, however; the place is grubby, the food looks like it's been sitting there forever. Ew.

I was very disappointed with the food , I had come before to eat and there was more quality of food but today I was very un satisfied with the selection of food , the food seemed burnt and too cooked , also false advertisement when it said seafood where is that exactly didn't see but clams and fish . I like the attention yes of the staff but I would recommend fixing the food choices I would not recommend this place it's pricey and not worth my money :(

This place is absolute garbage!! There was literally something wrong with every food item I picked up. The pot roast had NO flavor, the rice was more water than rice, the clam chowder tasted like room temperature canned soup. It was awful. Decent price for a buffet on the boardwalk but don't be fooled cause you will be disappointed. My bill was like 50$ for two people and an order of crab legs. If they didn't add the tip on to the bill I guarantee nobody would tip because of the food. The place stinks too, It smells awful in there, on top of all the bland food, like really? When I first went in we were standing at the podium and the two workers were standing by the door talking, they noticed we were there waiting but finished their conversation first while we're there waiting. Very rude too and hard to understand. Will definitely never be returning. How is this place still in business.

We just got back from a trip to Ocean City where we had eaten at the Paul Revere Smorgasbord 3 other times on other visits. Someone showed us the reviews for this restaurant before we left and we were shocked to read such awful things because we had enjoyed our meals. We were almost afraid to try again but we did and certainly weren't sorry. The salad bar was fresh and the food was hot. Everything was delicious and you had lots of choices including a wonderful dessert bar with excellent ice cream. We went for the first half hour so got a 15% discount which covered the 15% charge. I am not a fan of being charged this because I think a waiter or waitress should earn their tip, but I would definitely eat here again.

We were excited to eat here. We were hot and tired and wanted a place to sit down and get a good variety of food since we had children with us. We were not expecting top notch food but the bar looked horrible and I was worried about feeding my kids the food. I started at the salad bar and everything was old and slimy. I just couldn't bring myself to eat any of it. The worse thing about the place was the stench. It smelled like terrible body odor everywhere you went. I thought I was just standing to an employee that smelled but the stench was embedded into this place. We walked out and will not ever step foot back in here.

I would love to give this place zero stars if I could. This place is disgusting! And so dirty. This place needs a deep cleaning! My whole party and I got sick from the food and were so disgusted. It was like eating rotten and moldy food from a very old trash can. The owners and managers should be embarrassed and this place should've closed years ago! This place should be burned to the ground and rebuilt and bought out by new owners who care what kind of Food they serve and how clean it is. This place is an embarrassment to ocean city!

OK, OK, people need to calm down. For $13 you can't expect to get the buffet of the century. The place was ok, and I'm giving it a solid 3 stars. This is why: 1. waitstaff: the waitstaff is all foreign and they are all on a foreign exchange work program. and are all very nice. 2. decor: it looks like a colonial dining room with wooden accents and dark carpets. Not the most modern of places, but it fits the name. 3. the food: you get a salad plate, and fill up on salad, and then you're seated by the hostess. The salad consisted of your usual stuff, lettuce, tomato, etc... but also had some deli salads and some fruit. The hot food/entrees were ok too. The mashed potatoes we real, not powdered, but a lot of the food tasted like it was previously frozen. If you've been to hometown buffet, it's very similar to that. There were chicken dishes, meats, veggies, potatoes, rice, etc. and also a taco bar. The desserts were pre-plated slices of cake with fruit available as well as a soft serve ice cream machine. I didn't get sick, the food tasted ok, (like a college cafeteria), and it was cheap.

I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars. Firstly, to me $13 is not an inexpensive buffet. The fact that this is on the boardwalk makes the price more acceptable to me though. This place had everything I expect out of a cheap buffet, but at a higher price due to location. Were the price $7 or less, I would give it 3.5 or a 4. The place was clean. I liked the decor. The waitstaff was great. Bathrooms were clean. Food was hit or miss. In my book, a cheap buffet is doing well if at least half the food they have is appetizing, and this place met that mark. Their meats were good. They had a good fruit selection. Soft-serve ice cream was good. If I were on the boardwalk and looking for a dinner where I could sit down and eat, I might go here again, but I definitely wouldn't go out of my way to dine here.

This is probably the cheapest buffet in ocean city and that is what brought us there. I went in not expecting much and thats pretty much what happened. It all starts with the most confusing buffet line in the world. This is the only buffet I have ever been to where my kid's got lost and the entrance and exit were confusing even for an adult. (We were not the only ones confused, no one knew where to go when we were there) The food is blahhhh. Ribs were horrible, wings were good, taco bar was decent about the best thing there is the Dessert section. All of the dinner items were just average or below average. 90% of the seafood was horrible, not something you would expect from a restaurant by the ocean! The kid's did enjoy the food but they are kid's and really do not care. Finally service was mediocre, it took way to long to get our final check, which for some weird reason they make you carry in when you enter the buffet. Also don't forget to tip before you leave the table if you are using cash or you will have to endure the buffet maze again to get back to the table.

  • Jim C.

The food is buffet style. Have to be flexible and selective. Fried chicken was decent. Roast beef was like rubber. Our Eastern European waitress seemed very disinterested, lacked mastery of the English language and only came to the table twice. I had to chase her down to get the check. I think the auto gratuity of %12.99 is crap for the lack of service. Bottom line, there are better spots to spend your money.

  • Scott Y.

I guess I agree with most of the reviews on the page in that I didn't expect much when I went. My wife grew up going to ocean city boardwalk every year and wanted to go back with our kids and grandchildren. I will not be running to this dining establishment ever again. If you like substandard food in a dark dining room then this is the place for you. The food was bad at best and they automatically add the tip to the bill. 15% is outrageous for a tip when someone removes plates and fills the water and writing the bill up wrong three times.

This place is awful. Just terrible. I didn't have high expectations due to the fact that it's buffet style food and it's only $12.99. The whole set up is weird. First, we couldn't even get the hostess to make eye contact with us and after about a minute or two of awkwardly standing by the door, the hostess Acknowledged us. She gave us a slip of paper and told us to go get a salad. It was very strange. We went in and grabbed salads since it's the first thing you pass. Then somebody showed us to our seats. They clearly force the salad on customers because it is inexpensive. The employees were okay, it's not there fault that whoever decided to set up this restaurant wasn't making any sense. We received our drinks, one of which had a fingernail in it. So we needed to get a new one. I kept telling myself it's only $12.99, so don't expect much. The food was terrible. The inside of my baked potato was brown. The "salmon" tasted like a hush puppy that soaked up old dirty oil. The taco bar was terrible. I truly believe that no cook at this restaurant puts even the least bit of effort into the food. There is no way people are in that kitchen worried about the end product, and the food comes out the way it does. So we shook it off and ate what we could. The worst part, by far had to be when we were leaving and realized the total for the bill was $75, for only four people. The drinks are not included in the price and they are quite expensive. They add in gratuity, and then of course tax. I can honestly say I was shocked by the bill total. There was not one single good thing about this place.

Garbage! This food was terrible! I'm not even sure it was safe for consumption!! I've never eaten at a buffet and had the food be LESS than lukewarm! So incredibly disappointed that my family and I are out $50 because of this place. - Dark & dank - workers stood around and caught them a few times watching us eat. - staff isn't very friendly - food was gross and cold Couldn't imagine finding a worse place to eat. Save your money and if nothing else, eat something (anything!) better on the boardwalk.

We always go here when in OC. It's not gourmet but it is great for comfort food and plenty of it, the dessert section is wonderful, there are many many options, if you want to eat light, you can, there's traditional salad bar and fruit items, including fresh fruit at the dessert bar. But even if you don't like every single thing, you will find something good there, the basics are best, fried chicken, mac/cheese, roast beef, shell fish and taco bar items are a bonus, not always consistent in quality but never bad. the soups are great and the potato bar is a treat. but mixing cakes and soft serve ice cream for dessert with toppings? I love it.

Terrible food. Get what you pay for, my family all raced home to the bathroom after it. Taco meat looked like shit. There was a nasty smell of bo in the restaurant. Food doesn't taste like its edible.

It's an American buffet. On the boardwalk. In Ocean City. If you're realistic about expectations, it's not so bad! I used to come here a lot on childhood beach trips, and always loved the all-you-can-eat everything. No matter that the everything is not of best quality... that everything includes steamed mussels and clams! No matter that the steamed mussels and clams are gummy and dried out... they're all you can eat for cheap! (Plus it all tastes good enough with melted butter anyway.) So it was my pleasure to continue this tradition of pigging out on typical buffet food with my daughter, and we had a grand old time...especially since there was self-serve ice cream involved.

With a large family we needed something a bit easier on the wallet than the big ticket 'famous' buffets like Phillips or Embers so we decided to give this a try. The food had obviously been sitting for a long time; the fresh veggies on the salad bar were dehydrated and off color and the hot food was all stale and mostly dried out. The highlight of the meal was dessert; there was some decent fresh fruit and the cakes and soft serve were pretty good. Our server was very attentive and patient with the rigors of dining with small children bringing extra napkins and making sure drinks were full. It is a dark atmosphere, probably meant to mimic the lighting in Paul Revere's time but it seemed pretty clean.

  • Alyse B.

Dark dingy restaurant. Very odd make you go through the salad bar before you even sit down. Probably because if you saw the rest of the place you would leave! Food was aweful. I didn't expect great quality being you are paying $12 but the food was poor quality old. I had thrown out better. Even small things which you would think would play were not. I would even let my daughter eat anything but the ice cream. I can't even explain the food that I saw there. We sat down the table was sticky smelled like old dish towels and the disgusting rad the wash the tables with were hung next to us at the busing station. It was so dark you couldnt see anything and thank god

  • Jo M.

For $13 bucks, ya really cant go wrong to fill you belly. Especially on the boardwalk. The only thing I found annoying is you had to pay extra for your drink. $2.50, so actually it costs $15.50. Still no biggie Nothing fancy, nothing aweful. Your typical all you can eat buffet

The Paul Revere Smorgasbord offers a lot of food selections to choose from that will please even the pickyest palete. From the best of the sea, to the land, this restaurant provides a great assortment of tasty entrees at an affordable price (the breaded pork chops are awesome!) Try the turkey and mashed potatoes, or head to the raw bar for the best seafood Ocean City has to offer! You'll walk out of this place full... guaranteed!

Dark, cheap food, feels like a cafeteria. All of it is just barely ok. Service, food, cleanliness, buffet replenishment.

Well the price is good. I wasn't expecting much since it was a buffett and those usually aren't stellar but I don't know where to start with this place. They force you to get salad first then the waitress take you to your table. Then you give her the ticket and she sits you. It is a wierd maze. Although there's ton of space so they really should think about reorganizing. There were tons of empty tables but plenty people at the line so it wasn't empty. A lot of the items I tried where dry and tasteless. Baked chicken was the good but the wings where dry and uneatable like its been sitting there all day. Some of the veggie/side items taste like they came out a can. The soft serve was the best thing on the menu. On the up side I'm sure the guys would like the young European girls that seem to be working all over this place and the rest of the boardwalk lol.

  • Monica F.

The other review are right on. Cheap buffet and you get what you pay for. a lot of the food is dried out. My clams actually weren't that bad. My kids liked the Mac and cheese and we all liked the self serve icecream, they even had strawberry. If you are looking for quality food, go elsewhere. If you looking for a cheap buffet for the kids, you may be able to tolerate it.

Let me start out by saying that I literally spit out the rancid clam I put in my mouth across the table ... it was that rotten/spoiled. No problems with salad bar. No problems with dessert bar. Hot food bar atrocious. I have never seen such an array of dried out, unappealing food in my life. Most of it looked like a dog's dinner and some of it looked like vomit/diarrhea. More than one half of what I sampled I took one bite and left the rest. Corn on the cob looked like it had already been eaten. Most everything dried out and just plain gross. Barbque spare ribs only decent thing, along with the two soups of the day. I would NEVER eat here again and just cannot recommend this place to anybody. The price is attractive, but the food is just awful. That said, the nice young lady who waited our table was very personable, but the rest of the staff I interacted with seemd apathetic. Nice, dark atmosphere to eat in, despite the screaming baby a couple of tables over. DON'T GO, please. Some of the worst food I've ever seen/eaten and by far the worst buffet I've ever been to.

We've been coming to ocean city for 23 years and we eat here every year. Good ravioli, fried clams, awesome seafood, good service. Never had a bad meal. Food is a little salty, but we love this place!

A visit to Paul Revere is certainly an experience, but you get good value for your money. The food is decent, and the wait staff is exceptionally friendly. The place is clean. What more can one ask of a low price conveniently located restaurant in Ocean City?

    (3)
  • Ali L.

Let me say this and only this, when my mom came back from the bathroom, and she heard the waitresses, "eek" because they saw a mouse running...we knew we would never be back, what were we thinking!!!!!???????

    (1)
  • Vanessa D.

Alright, I struggled with wondering if I should give it 1 or 2 stars. Based on overall food experience it was ...well cafeteria food. The reason for the additional star is my children. They like the fried chicken, taco bar, salad bar, mussels, spaghetti, rolls and dessert spread. My kids beg us to come here from time to time when we visit the beach. Periodic desperation for peace and overall harmony among four children generally wins out when considering where to feed us all. It has more choices than McDonald's so why not throw caution to the wind once in a while? It is pricey for what it is....rows of hot cafeteria food that would make your elementary school lunch lady proud. That said, it IS cheaper than the other buffets in OC. So, if you are "into" rows of hot food that you did not have to make it seems pretty attractive. If you go, go early. They have an early bird special and you don't need to fight crowds. The service has always been friendly.

I've been to Paul Revere's almost 10 times. It's not the most comfortable place to eat, and despite the quality of the food for the price you pay at a dine in buffett style restaurant in Ocean City, MD I'd say you get what you pay for. Adults costs about $11, 8-12yrs olds are about $8, little kids are a couple bucks less, and if the child is 2yrs or younger they are free. Expect to pay an extra $2 for drinks per person. PR has a variety of foods to choose from: I'd go for the soups, tacos, bake potatoes, salads, desserts, pizza, nuggets, and wings, but I'm not much of a fan for their seafoods or red meats. They have shrimp, mussles, and clams, but they have a funny possibly canned foods taste to them. I like the clam chowder though. Desserts include fruits of all kinds, vanilla and chocolate ice creams, cookies, puddings, cakes, and pies. This place has a scary colonial ship feeling, but has surprisingly clean bathrooms that are well maintained. The wait staff is comprised of mainly study abroad students, most who are European.

Haha! Omg, WORST. FOOD. EVER. Start with bad TV dinner food, puke it up, than take a step back from that, and its still worse. The flies wouldn't even eat it. But whats so awfully ridiculous about this place is that its like a HUGE ship's galley inside, cept haunted and you can never escape. This is reinforced by the lack of any easily identifiable exits and soulless nature in which costumers interact. Its as if the longer you stay, the more you lose your soul till you become an enslaved zombie and are forced to work there as a cook or waiter. I usually don't write reviews like this, but this place was so weird my friends and I (there were 10 of us) spent the first 15 minutes of our meal giggling and laughing out of our sheer horror and surprise at this place's existence. Never go here, unless you want to experience what it feels like to be undead.

Did not eat here - but used the parking on a VERY busy saturday night. It was $5 for 3 hours, right off 2nd street between Baltimore/Philadelphia Streets. Very convenient to the boardwalk and downtown area. Was easy enough to get in/out of once you were comfortable with the area.

HORRIBLE.....None of the food was Hot...Luke warm if best...soft mushie puke....no one spoke English....
